MUSIC HUB (Chupinghat , Bhaktapur)

Title: MUSIC HUB (Chupinghat , Bhaktapur)
Authors: UJJWAL SHAKHAKARMI 740147
Abstract: Newa musical culture, which is often contemplated as untouched tradition that has
been in practice for centuries, these days is undergoing a lot of rapid changes in
content and the context mainly as a result of media, migration, and modernization. In
context of Nepal, the traditional music is slowly vanishing and different form of
music and musical instrument have been extinct. The music hub is an essential
institutional space that plays a vital role in preserving cultural heritage and promoting
artistic expression. This abstract presents an overview of the significance, objectives,
and methodologies employed by such institutions to educate and inspire individuals in
the realm of traditional music.
This music hub is dedicated to safeguarding and transmitting age-old musical
traditions from one generation to another. Through a curriculum that encompasses
various forms of folk, ethnic, and indigenous music, these schools foster a deep
appreciation for cultural diversity and encourage the preservation of intangible
cultural heritage. The primary objectives of it include providing comprehensive music
education, honing technical skills, and fostering creativity. Students are exposed to a
wide array of traditional instruments, vocal techniques, and rhythmic patterns,
enabling them to master their chosen art form and, in some cases, engage in crosscultural
collaborations.
Drawing upon established teaching methods and innovative approaches, traditional
music schools create an immersive learning environment. Experienced instructors,
often rooted in the traditions themselves, employ oral and aural methods alongside
written notation to impart knowledge. This combination allows students to grasp the
essence of traditional music, retaining its authenticity while adapting to modern
pedagogical needs.
In addition to formal instruction, these schools serve as community hubs, hosting
performances, workshops, and cultural events. By actively engaging with the local
community, they contribute to the enrichment of regional cultural identity and provide
platforms for budding musicians to showcase their talents.Despite challenges posed
by modernization and globalization, traditional music schools remain instrumental in
safeguarding cultural expressions and nurturing a sense of belonging among
individuals. As we navigate the complexities of the digital age, it is crucial to
recognize and support the ongoing efforts of these institutions in preserving and
revitalizing traditional music for future generations.

RIVERFRONT RESORT AT RIVER KHADAM (Kerabari, Morang)

Title: RIVERFRONT RESORT AT RIVER KHADAM (Kerabari, Morang)
Authors: Tulsi Kumari Das (740146)
Abstract: Many civilizations have originated and flourished on the banks of rivers. Major cities all around
the world are located at junctions of rivers and sea. Walking through the urban spaces and built
environment, one certainly feels the ecosystem which is the product of our past. The
environment has been serving humans for decades. The relationship between man nature and
the built environment has been established in the past. But the various degrees of intervention
in the course of time have threatened the life of people living in the same built environment.
Improper land use, corrupted planning, and development guidelines, and irresponsible
approach to dealing with the built environment has resulted in the separation of human society
from the natural ecosystem. Rivers, being the representation factor for any city, have been
highly polluted these days. The areas around the river have lost the attention of the public.
Public spaces around rivers are now being exploited and encroached on. This era lacks
platforms for self-expression, exchange, and experience, which could easily be designed in the
waterfront development.
The project is entitled to be “RIVERFRONT RESORT AT RIVER KHADAM”. This project
is a sign of growth of our economy. This project not only deliver the value to this place but
also adding some value to our nation. It brings one of opportunity for the people where they
can get most benefits like employments, institution, residential etc. also environment. I thought
if this type of project initiates in every state then our country called develop country. Recreation
can produce economic and commercial benefits as well, both directly and indirectly. The direct
economic benefits come from events and activities like spectator sports, stage shows and
amusement parks. The indirect economic benefit of recreation is in the form of tourism. Many
major recreational events and activities bring in people from far places. These people spend
money in motels, restaurants and shops enhancing the local economy and thereby providing
new jobs for its citizens. Another indirect economic benefit is the desirable quality that
recreational facilities provide for a community, hence making it a more preferred area to work
and live. Well-developed and adequate recreation and open space areas tend to attract and hold
people in the community through their positive impact on individual lifestyles.

Title: ESPORTS HUB DESIGNING AN ESPORTS HUB EXPERIENCE Bhaktapur
Authors: SURAJ GWACHHA 740145
Abstract: As the esports industry continues to grow in popularity, there is an increasing need for
dedicated venues that provide an engaging and immersive experience for players and spectators
alike. This undergraduate thesis explores the process of designing an esports hub experience
that maximizes engagement and immersion, drawing on research from a variety of sources,
including case studies of existing esports venues, interviews with players and industry experts,
and best practices in experiential design.
The project begins with an overview of the esports industry and its rapid growth, highlighting
the need for venues that can accommodate the unique requirements of competitive gaming
events while providing a memorable and immersive experience for visitors. It then examines
the key elements of experiential design, including storytelling, theming, interactivity, and
immersion, and how these principles can be applied to the design of an esports hub.
Drawing on case studies of existing esports venues, the project identifies key design features
that contribute to a successful esports hub experience, including customizable lighting and
sound systems, high-quality visual displays, and flexible, modular spaces that can be adapted
for different types of events. Interviews with players and industry experts provide additional
insight into the needs and desires of the gaming community, informing the development of a
comprehensive design proposal.
The design proposal itself emphasizes the importance of creating a space that is both engaging
and immersive, offering visitors a sense of excitement and energy that reflects the dynamic
nature of competitive gaming. Key features of the design include a modular space that can be
customized to accommodate different types of events, high-quality audio and visual systems,
interactive elements that encourage visitor participation, and theming and storytelling elements
that create a memorable and immersive experience.
Ultimately, this undergraduate thesis presents a comprehensive design proposal for an esports
hub experience that maximizes engagement and immersion, reflecting the needs and desires of
the gaming community while providing an exciting and memorable space for esports events.
The project seeks to contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the esports industry.

Title: SCHOOL FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Authors: URJA PRADHAN 740148
Abstract: The project school for visually impaired is the institution building for the people/ children with the visual impairment. This project tends to create a design which not only be accessible by people with visually impairment but also raises their independence and confidence. The people with visual impairment experiences partiality in many terms such as social, economic and even in term of architecture in their day to day life. Being a visually dominant creatures we highly rely on our visual senses but as a designer we must also consider other senses rather than just focusing on the sight. We must consider the safety and easy accessibility for all the users of the building.
Before proceeding to design certain desk studies were done which included of the literature review, case studies and analysis .These studies rooted towards the barrier free environment design where the user group can move independentely. Purwanchal Gyanchakshu school, Namuna Machhindra School, Disabled service association were chosen for National case study whereas Hazelwood school, Center for blind and visually impaired were chosen for International Case study. Case studies were done considering the relevancy of the project. Then an appropriate site was chosen at Janagal, Banepa considering the services and utilities. The chosen site has different institution and differentently abled hospitals at a nearby proximity . While doing the project certain design approaches where considered such as zoning were done considering the users preferences, similarly simple planning were done. The changes in flooring materials were done such as a certain flooring material is used on the pathway whereas the flooring materials changes as we approach to the boundary of the buildings. Similarly the design is done considering all the senses.
The student in the school will feel the building in the project through multisensory experiences. In conclusion, this school for visually impaired is an institutional building which includes of the school and training activities for the betterment of the visually impaired students which aim to provide quality education, independent living skills to the people with visual impairment.
