| Abstract: | Brides are the key elements in the lifeline of developing country. Among the different types of bridge, the integral bridge can be a suitable option considering the aesthetic, construction and economic point of view and are known to possess good earthquake resistance. The objective of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of the Integral Abutment Bridge in the context of Nepal. The seismic performance evaluation of an Integral Abutment Bridge has been constructed in finite element software (SAP2000). A Dhobi Kola Bridge, Anamnia in Kathmandu, was considered for research. Different types of analyzing methodology like modal analysis, nonlinear pushover and time history analysis is performed to determine and analyze the seismic characteristics of IAB. Time History are selected and matched according to NBC 105: 2020 code Response spectra. More than 80% of mass was excited in the first mode and vibrates along the longitudinal direction. Ductility of structure was found to be 3.03 and 2.82 in transverse and longitudinal direction, respectively. Above 85% of lateral was resisted by piles and remaining forces are sustained by other components. The performance of structure for DBE was found within operation level and for MCE is found within life safety level. |
