Abstract: Throughout the world there is a wave of “Save The Earth “, where an architect/planner is expected to design and plan infrastructure without any harm caused to the planet. And what really matters is protecting the environment around for peaceful living. Being part of the noble profession, building structure that promotes use of sustainable techniques and advances towards betterment of future lifestyle is the motivation to my thesis. Bamboo being the integral part of forestry and the backbone of Nepal’s rural culture, It is one of the important renewable natural resources that can bring people above the poverty line if grown and managed on a sustainable basis. The importance of bamboo in the predominantly agricultural economy, particularly the rural economy of Nepal is well recognized. As Gautama Buddha says, “Being in a bamboo groove restores calmness and stimulates creativity” The purpose of this report is to let the readers understand the spaces required in a Research and Training Center and to give information about Bamboo as a Building Material and explore its uses in the industry. Here, it has tried to elucidate all the relevant detail to the topic to be included in the report. While in the beginning, I have tried to give a general view about this topic. The report is written in a way that would make the reader understand the importance of using Bamboo. Exploration of several aspects of sustainability were explored to present bamboo as a sustainable alternative to other building materials.
