Abstract: Nepal has a unique architecture with its rich culture and heritage. The country has diversity in its population, ecological context, culture and language that are attraction to tourism.so, it is even said as ‘open museum of art and architecture’. Tourism denotes the movement or journey of human beings from one place to another whether it may be within own country or second country for various purposes. The ancient craft and craftmanship are the part of our intangible heritage, a source of tradition that has been passed on from one generation to other. It is our duty to continue this generation of craft, a skill to be preserved and promoted.it is also one of the factors attracting tourist. This project is an attempt to provide a place for promotion of tourism and local crafts. The tourism information and craft centre would be an ideal space where visitors can get easy service and one can learn about the crafts. This project is mainly concern with the design of tourist services and craft workshop which includes pottery, wooden crafts, handloom weaving, mask making and Paubha. This project includes information, exhibitions administration, restaurant workshops, multipurpose hall. In workshop spaces, spaces for training are provided where anyone can learn the skills. My thesis project is about the tourist information and craft center. Bhaktapur is rich in architectural beauty and is best known for its majestic monuments, colorful festivals and the native newars and their generation old craftsmanship. The main objective of this project is to provide glimpse of Bhaktapur to the tourists before visiting the city. So, I selected the site at Bhelukhel-7, Bhaktapur near the core area. There is a new proposed tourist bus park which allows maximum flow of tourist as the site is located within the route.
