Abstract: Transportation is the backbone of a nation, its impact on the progress and functioning of a developing country as ours is vital to say the least. Among the various modes of transportation roadways are especially crucial in Nepal, due to reasons like general topography and economy of the country. Accounting for the importance of roadways The Government of Nepal has prioritized the development of roadways at the very top. This project aims to design and construct a roadway connecting Ghyampedanda and Kakrobari along with the required Quantitative and Financial estimate. The project employs Open Traverse survey method, software like AutoCAD, SW-DTM and SW-Road v2 for the design and estimation. Road design parameters were taken as guided by NRS2070. Pavement design was carried out using Overseas Roadnote-31 for flexible pavement and IRC: 58-2002 for rigid pavement. The main objective of the project work is to achieve the working level of knowledge and practical understanding for the construction, design of road and its estimation. This report is an outcome of our hard work and perseverance. Any opinions, suggestions or criticism for the project would be appreciated.
