The development of International Convention Centers plays a crucial role in fostering global connectivity, business networking, and cultural exchange. This thesis explores the architectural, functional, and economic aspects of designing an International Convention Center that meets contemporary global requirements and needs. The study focusses on sustainable building practices, advanced technological integration, and flexible spatial planning to accommodate diverse events, including conferences, exhibitions, and cultural gatherings. This architectural thesis explores the design of a convention and Exhibition Center at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Bhrikutimandap is a historically and culturally significant urban node of Nepal's capital. The project aims to respond to the increasing demand for large scale, multi-purpose event spaces in Kathmandu with contextual sensitivity, spatial efficiency, and sustainable urban development. Kathmandu valley has been rich in public spaces from the ancient times in the forms of squares, market places, dabalis which has played a key role to create public engagement and social interactions. With evolving times and increasing urbanization, the role and use for public spaces have been shifting, highlighting the growing need for the development of convention and exhibition centers. The proposed center is flexible to conventions, exhibitions, cultural events, trade fairs, and public events. The design takes into account site-specific issues like pedestrian access, traffic congestion and important buildings proximity (such as Singha Durbar, Bhadrakali Temple and Tundikhel). User experience, environmental responsiveness, and urban integration are prioritized in to the design of the spaces. With modular spatial design principles, the project aims to design a vibrant architectural landmark that serves as an important public realm. The center comprises of auditorium, exhibition halls, breakout spaces, services, landscape, restaurant and green building design in order to meet the national and international needs of the present time. This thesis aims and explores the potential for a well-designed public space at Bhrikutimandap to be a boost for socio-cultural engagement, hosting events, exhibitions, public interaction, economic growth, and urban rehabilitation in Kathmandu's urban fabric.-
